The medEncounter product
suite is an evolved series of applications based on
our success with the point-of-care THERESA®
clinical information system.
The largest user of
THERESA is the Grady Health System (GHS) or Grady
Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. The
system is an integrated (via HL7) electronic medical
record (EMR) encounter, management and research
system and has been in operation since 1983.
Supported by a secure lifetime (permanent) database
management system, the application has robust
decision support capabilities that are used to
immediately help patients, to support administrative
needs, and to perform medical research.
Over
the years a tremendous amount of patient information
has been directly input and transcribed into the
system. The system has over 3.8 million patient
encounter documents online from 1.2 million patient
encounters and over 58 million searchable documents
online. THERESA is a key resource day to day in
helping GHS achieve the quality service levels needed
by millions of patients over the years.
